The two free French and Flemish universities, 19,000 + 5,000 students, absolutely independent, must coexist in the same area. A pedestrian path between the underground stations crosses the two realities: in its intersection with the transversal axis of separation and support for urban-scale activities, it determines a multi-level node on which residential units converge. In the central area, in addition to urban activities and common services, the departments of Mathematics and Philosophy gravitate.
